1. Air India Flight 182

3. 1996 Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision
On November 12, 1996, over the town of Charkhi Dadri in Haryana, India, the deadliest midair crash and third-worst airplane disaster occurred.
Flight 763 from Saudia to Delhi crashed with Flight 1907 from Kazakhstan Airlines. Between the passengers and crew members on both aircraft, 349 people perished.

4. Japan Air Lines Flight 123
Japan Air Lines journey 123 was scheduled to fly from Tokyo to Osaka (shown) on August 12, 1985, in what was supposed to be a short, regular journey.
It was meant to be an hour-long flight
The Boeing 747 decompressed after a break in the aft pressure bulkhead 12 minutes into the flight. After trying for half an hour to maintain control, the jet crashed into Mount Takamagahara, 62 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of Tokyo.
There were 505 passengers and 15 crew members killed. It was eventually discovered that the portion that had broken apart had been restored seven years before following another occurrence.
5. Tenerife Airport Disaster of 1977
Many people are astonished that the deadliest aircraft catastrophe occurred on the ground rather than in flight. On March 27, 1977, this occurred on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
