The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken decisive action by imposing suspensions on unlicensed oil marketers and those with expired licenses, prohibiting them from supplying and refueling aircraft at airports across the country.

Captain Musa Nuhu, the Director General of the NCAA, revealed that the identification of these unauthorized aircraft fuel suppliers and holders of expired licenses was made possible through a collaborative effort with the NMPDRA (Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority).
He stated, “Our collaboration with NMPDRA has yielded positive outcomes, leading to the identification and subsequent suspension of all non-licensed fuel suppliers and those with expired licenses at airports throughout Nigeria.”
Captain Nuhu also highlighted the recent issuance of an All Operators Letter (AOL), mandating operators to adhere strictly to approved fueling requirements. He emphasized the heightened vigilance of the NCAA in ensuring full compliance with these regulations.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the significant attention that recent fuel contamination incidents, particularly those involving Max Air, have garnered both nationally and internationally. These incidents have underscored the importance of enforcing stringent safety measures in aviation fuel supply and handling procedures.
