The National Secretariat of l Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), which is located in Garki 2, Abuja, was also cordoned off by the police.
Anthony Asogwa Chukudi, the general secretary, Olayi Odion, and Abdulrasak Yemi, the principal assistant secretary and national trustee, are also among those detained. At the moment, the cops are being held at the Wuse Zone 3 Division.
According to information obtained by SaharaReporters, the officers were detained on the secretariat’s grounds at around 5 p.m. on Friday when armed police officers and Department of State Services (DSS) employees entered the facility and ordered all inhabitants to leave.

In a statement released on Wednesday, August 9, the union claimed that some individuals planned to hold a violent protest at the union secretariat against the delegates conference scheduled for Saturday, August 12.
It was learned that the union also asked the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for police protection to ward off any assault and potential collapse of law and order.Mr. Isa Ore, the union’s deputy president, who confirmed the news to SaharaReporters on Saturday, said they were startled to see the police seal their offices without providing any explanation.
He explained, “This morning, on Saturday, we were getting ready for the swearing-in and inauguration of the newly elected National Administrative Council members, but we only spotted police, who requested us to leave the area. Our president and other officials have been detained at the Wuse police station, according to their claims that it was an order from above.
