Days ago, SaharaReporters claimed that Hon. Justice M.A. Dada, Lagos State’s Chief Coroner, had ordered an inquest into Mohbad’s passing.
This was stated in a letter sent to Festus Ogun Legal, a law practice with offices in Lagos, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in response to a number of inquiries that had previously been made to the Chief Coroner over the same issue.
The Lagos judiciary would begin initial investigations into Mohbad’s death on Friday at Magistrate Court 3, Candide-Johnson Courthouse, Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, Lagos, according to the letter that SaharaReporters was able to receive.

Justice M.A Dada, to notify your good office of his Lordship’s order to convoke an inquest into the death of the above named LATE ILERIOLUWA OLADIMEJI ALOBA AKA “MOHBAD,” in view of the letter from your office to the Chief Coroner over the death that you stated occurred in a strange and suspicious circumstances that requires the convocation of an inquest pursuant to the current provisions of Sections 14 and 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law, Cap. C15, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The undersigned coroner hereby notifies your office that preliminary investigations into the death of LATE ILERIOLUWA OLADIMEJI ALOBA AKA “MOHBAD” will begin on:
