Covenant University is ranked first. The British publication claimed that in order to give thorough and fair comparisons across three important areas—teaching, research, and social impact—it employed precisely calibrated measures. According to a recent survey by University World News, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state, is at the top of the list for Nigeria, followed by the University of Ibadan (UI) and the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo state among other universities.

1 Covenant University
In the world, Covenant University is ranked 601–800. Private Pentecostal Christian university Covenant University has been operating legally in Ota, Nigeria, since 2002. The institution contains four colleges: the College of Engineering, the College of Science and Technology, the College of Leadership and Development Studies, and the College of Business and Social Sciences.
2 University of Ibadan
The institution of Ibadan (UI), the first institution to be founded in Nigeria, was founded in 1932. Initially a college that belonged to the University of London, it received complete independence in 1962. 14 Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)
Obafemi Awolowo institution (OAU) is a federally funded institution in Nigeria. The University of Ife was founded in 1962. To honor Chief Obafemi Awolowo, one of the university’s founding fathers and a distinguished lawyer, patriot, and politician, the institution was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987. A variety of undergraduate courses are offered by the university’s 13 faculties.
15 University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT)
The University of Port Harcourt (Uniport), which was established in 1975 to serve the Rivers state, received full university status in 1977.
