In a shootout between Operation Hadarin Daji soldiers and bandits at Kangon Garucci in the Dangulbi district of the Maru local government area of Zamfara state, seven soldiers and 22 farmers were slain.
Some of the locals were slain after being trapped while working on their farms, but others were captured in the crossfire between armed insurgents and military.
“Ali Kawajo, Damina, and another bandit leader named “Black” were in charge of the assault. As he constantly requires them to work on his farmlands, Black has effectively reduced the bulk of the local farmers to servitude, according to Sani Baba.

At the time this report was filed, Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, could not be reached for comment.

At least 7 bandits were neutralized by Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji soldiers working alongside soldiers stationed at FOB Wanke in the Gusau local authority.
Along the road that was thought to be used by bandits, the troops set up an ambush.
Following the incident, the military pursued other escaping bandits and seized six motorcycles, one machine pistol, and ammo.
Major General Godwin Mutkut, the commander of the Joint Task Force, North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji, praised the soldiers for their bravery and tenacity in taking on the robbers.
