Tinubu nominates Ibrahim, Olawande as ministers for youth, In anticipation of the Senate’s approval, President Bola Tinubu has given his blessing to the nominations of Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande to the positions of Minister of Youth and Minister of State, respectively.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the presidential spokesman, Jamila Ibrahim, a doctor, most recently presided over the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF).
She has also worked as the Kwara State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On the other side, Ayodele Olawande, a youth leader in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is a specialist in community development.


From 2019 through 2023, he most recently worked as the President’s Special Adviser on Innovation.

President Tinubu orders the aforementioned nominees to make sure that while they carry out their responsibilities, they continually exhibit the energy, innovative zeal, and uncompromising productivity that are emblematic of Nigeria’s young people.
Both candidates will be sworn in after their names have been presented to the Senate for consideration and confirmation.

Recall that before they were sworn in, the President had appointed Abubakar Momoh as the Minister of Youth Development before reassigning him to the Ministry of the Niger Delta.
