A fire and ensuing explosions at a golf ball plant in southern Taiwan resulted in no less than five fatalities and more than 100 injuries.
According to an official, five individuals are still missing following the nighttime blaze that began on Friday at a plant in Pingtung County.
Three firefighters reportedly lost their lives, and the injured were taken to hospitals, according to CBS.

In an address delivered in Taipei on Saturday, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen offered her sympathies to the victims’ families.
According to the authorities, a probe has been opened to ascertain what started the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, according to a Facebook post by Pingtung County magistrate Chou Chun-mi.
