The NLC and TUC Suspend Nationwide Strike current strike was put on hold on Wednesday night by the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress National Executive Council. The unions claimed that Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser, intervened and caused the suspension.

According to information obtained by our reporter, the meeting, which started a little after 7 o’clock at night, lasted over an hour. During that time, representatives from several affiliates and state chapters discussed the conclusions of the conference that had been held between Ribadu and the leaders of organized labor. In a conversation with our correspondent in Abuja, Tommy Etim, the National Deputy Vice-President of the TUC, disclosed this.
“The strike has been put on hold by the TUC and the NLC NEC. We took this action because we trusted National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, who provided us with his advice,” he stated.
According to The PUNCH, on Wednesday afternoon, the labor leaders met with Ribadu at the Office of the NSA together with Simon Lalong, the Minister of Labor.
The people behind Ajaero’s abuse had been apprehended, according to an NSA announcement.
The National President of Organized Labor, Joe Ajaero, is allegedly being brutalized, and the government is not effectively putting some of the agreements made on October 2, 2023, into practice. For these reasons, organized labor is protesting.
