On Sunday evening, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a meeting at the State House in Abuja with governors from states that share a boundary with the Niger Republic. The purpose of this meeting was to engage in consultations concerning the current situation in Niger.

In attendance were H.E. Ahmed Aliyu from Sokoto, H.E. Umar Namadi from Jigawa, H.E. Mai Malam Buni from Yobe, H.E. Idris Nasir from Kebbi, and H.E. Dr. Dikko Radda from Katsina. The gathering allowed for crucial discussions and collaboration between the President and these regional governors in addressing matters concerning the neighboring country.
It was reported that the President sought the consultation of the governors regarding the current issues affecting business and day-to-day activities in their respective states. He also inquired about the impact of the border closure with the Niger Republic on business operations in their regions.
