The recovery of funds follows the diligent efforts of Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, to address irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives. Mr. Akindele acknowledged that these irregularities had eroded public confidence in the government’s ability to provide social safety cover but emphasized Dr. Betta Edu’s commitment to resolving these issues and fulfilling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mandate.

The National Program Manager highlighted that various irregularities, including the non-payment of monthly allowances to many beneficiaries, were being actively addressed. He noted that funds held by an expired consultant contract had been successfully recovered, paving the way for the payment of beneficiaries.

Dr. Betta Edu is resolute in resolving these issues to establish a solid foundation for the expansion of Renewed Hope N-POWER, aiming to reach 5 million young Nigerians. The National Program Manager urged young Nigerians to exercise patience, emphasizing that the restructuring was in their best interest and would lead to the program’s expansion to benefit millions of youths.

He concluded by affirming President Tinubu’s commitment to poverty eradication and ensuring that the government would deliver on its promises.
