8 kidnapped CAC members are freed by Ondo police

    Twenty-five members of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo State, were abducted by some hoodlums suspected to be gunmen on Friday evening. The victims, who were said to be choristers of the church, were reportedly attacked and kidnapped on the Benin-Akure Expressway, around the Ifon ar. Ondo State Police Command on Saturday said it had rescued eight out of 25 people who had been abducted on Friday.

    They claimed to be on their way to Ifon for a funeral ceremony when the thugs ambushed them and took them off into the wilderness.

    The state police public relations officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, commented on the development and verified that eight of the victims had been rescued, with work still being done to save the other victims.
