Saka is excluded from England’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Italy

The English Football Association declared on Monday that Bukayo Saka would not be playing for England in their matches against Australia and Italy.

The Arsenal winger, 22, was a member of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad last week, but he was unable to play in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City because of recent hamstring pain.

“After being injured on Sunday and missing Arsenal’s Premier League victory against Manchester City, Saka was examined by the England medical staff, and it was determined that the player would complete his recovery at his club.

Gareth Southgate has a 25-player team at his disposal, therefore no replacements are anticipated.

Before playing Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifying match on October 17 at the national stadium, England hosts Australia in a friendly on Friday at Wembley.
