Barrett, who comes from a Puerto Rican background, was born and raised in Galloway Township, New Jersey. She faced challenges growing up, being one of the few Puerto Ricans in her community and one of the rare students raised by a single mother after her parents’ divorce.

At seventeen, she left her family to live in Los Angeles, against her parents’ wishes, hoping for better job prospects. At 18, she received a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. She made another suicide attempt in 2022 following the accidental overdose death of her close friend Cooper Noriega on June 9, 2022.
Following that incident, her manager admitted her to a mental health facility. Subsequently, Barrett authored two books about Noriega, titled “Die First” in 2022 and “Club Heaven” in 2023. In an interview with Zach Sang, Barrett credited her Christian faith with helping her navigate her friend’s passing and her mental health struggles.
