Liverpool vs. Brighton: Klopp concerned about appearing “silly” a second time at Amex Stadium

When Liverpool plays Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, boss J├╝rgen Klopp has cautioned his team against appearing’silly’ a second time in a row.

The Brighton squad received high accolades from the Liverpool manager, who referred to them as the best coaching team.

But he emphasized that his team needed to make up for a 3-0 loss at Brighton in January, a performance he called the worst he could recall at the time.

“If we play like we played last year, we will get a massive knock again,” warned Klopp, who will be without the suspended Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, and the injured Cody Gakpo.

Brighton experienced a few results that were not precisely what they wanted, but that is totally normal for a developing organization. They underwent numerous changes, losing star players (one of whom we acquired, Alexis MacAllister), and yet continued to play outstanding football.

“Given where they are coming from, we anticipate an extremely difficult game against the league’s best-coached team. Graham [Potter] did a lot of fantastic work, and switching from Potter to De Zerbi was a really wise choice. They made a lot of progress: they were very consistent, used different formations, players, and lineups, and always played Brighton football, which I greatly admire.

You can appear silly once, but you shouldn’t look silly twice, so we need to make a few things right.
