    How to Register Your Startup on the Nigeria Startup Portal

    1. Access the Portal: Visit the official Nigeria Startup Portal.
    2. Begin Registration: Click on the “Register” button to start the process.
    3. Choose Registration Type: Select the appropriate category for your startup.
    4. Fill in Company Details: Provide your company’s information, including the RC Number and company name.
    5. Complete Founder Information: Enter details for the founder or co-founder profile.
    6. Upload Documents: Upload necessary documents such as the CAC Certificate and Company Profile.
    7. Review and Submit: Preview your information, ensure all details are correct, and submit your registration.

    Requirements for Startup Registration

    • Company Status: Must be a limited liability company registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
    • Company Age: The company should be less than 10 years old from the date of incorporation.
    • Innovation Focus: Should have objectives focused on innovation, development, production, improvement, and commercialization of a digital technology product or process.
    • Ownership: Must be a holder or repository of a product or process of digital technology, or the owner or author of a registered software.
    • Local Shareholding: At least one-third of local shareholding should be held by one or more Nigerians as founder or co-founder.
    • Compliance: Must satisfy the conditions set out in the Act, in the case of a sole proprietorship or partnership.
    • Tech-Enabled Business: Should be a tech-enabled business that uses existing tools, platforms, libraries, and frameworks to enhance efficiency or effectiveness.
