FG sights 1.3 Million MSMEs in 17 States and the FCT for benefits..
A consortium of partners operating within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector is gearing up to implement a series of interventions targeting 1.3 million beneficiaries spanning 17 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President, shared this information in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday. These MSME-focused interventions are part of their collective efforts to complement the Federal Government’s initiatives aimed at bolstering the economy and generating employment opportunities.
Abiola explained that these interventions are being coordinated by the MSME and Job Creation Unit of the Vice President’s Office, with the primary goal of aligning with the Tinubu administration’s commitment to job creation. Furthermore, these initiatives are strategically positioned to contribute to the success of the Federal Government’s economic diversification agenda, with MSMEs playing a pivotal role.
The interventions, which are set to be implemented across 17 states and the FCT, encompass shared MSME centers equipped with 300 kVA solar panels and mini-grids, enabling them to provide eight hours of daily electricity to six Fashion Hubs and two Furniture Clusters. Additionally, the interventions encompass facilities such as car painting and drying hubs, as well as cold rooms for seafood storage, among other initiatives.
Abiola concluded by noting that, in line with Vice President Kashim Shettima’s directives to expedite project execution, five of these interventions are slated for completion and delivery by December 2023.
