The Federal Ministry of Education has announced a new scholarship opportunity for Nigerian students. The Italian Government is offering nine-month scholarships to fifteen (15) Nigerian students for studies in Italian universities and research centers for the 2024/2025 academic year.

    This initiative aims to foster international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields and to promote the Italian language and culture.

    The scholarship includes a monthly stipend of 1000 euros, disbursed quarterly. Additionally, one of these scholarships is dedicated to the memory of Ambassador Luca Athanasius in the field of international relations.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The scholarships are available for both MSc and PhD programs with specific eligibility requirements:

    For Master’s Degree Program:

    • Applicants should possess a recognized bachelor’s degree.
    • The continuation of the grant into the second year is contingent on satisfactory performance in the first year.
    • Applicants must be under 28 years old by the deadline of this call.

    For PhD Program:

    • Candidates must have both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
    • They must meet the academic requirements of the chosen Italian university.
    • Applicants must be under 30 years old by the deadline of this call.

    All applicants must provide an admission letter from a relevant Italian university.

    Interested candidates should apply through the official Study in Italy website (https://studyinitaly.esteri.it) and follow the directives provided. The final date for submission is June 14, 2024.
