After a six-week break, the Senate reconvened on Tuesday and broke into a closed session to discuss national-level matters. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, had earlier urged all disgruntled lawmakers to put down their swords and work with him.
According to Akpabio, only through unity could the nation make the advances it so richly deserved at the time.
The ratification of Mr. Olayemi Cardoso’s nomination for appointment as the Central Bank of Nigeria is the first item on the agenda for the plenary session.
The red chamber also intended to review and approve the selection of four new deputy governors at the committee of the entire, namely Emem Nnana Usoro, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor, and Bala M. Bello.
