Dele Oyewale, the acting head of media and publicity for the EFCC, confirmed this significant development. Oyewale emphasized the principle that criminal activities are universally reprehensible, regardless of jurisdictional boundaries. He asserted that no crime should go unpunished. The charges against Madueke, involving money laundering, span multiple jurisdictions, including Dubai, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Nigeria.

In the pursuit of justice, the EFCC has obtained an arrest warrant to bring the former minister to trial in Nigeria. Additionally, extradition proceedings have been set in motion. Oyewale assured that the Commission is steadfast in its commitment to ensuring accountability, stating, “The Commission is on course on her trial. She will soon have her day in our courts.” This underscores the determination of the EFCC to address allegations of financial impropriety and uphold the rule of law in a comprehensive and transnational manner.
