Manchester City beats Bayern Munich in Japan

The late drama in Tokyo allowed Manchester City to defeat Bayern Munich 2-1 in a friendly thanks to Aymeric Laporte.

Leroy Sane’s free kick hit the top of the crossbar, giving City a first-half advantage against the flow of the game thanks to James McAtee.

The outcome remained the same after the interval, with City dominating following a flurry of halftime substitutions, only for Mathys Tel, a striker for France’s Under-19 national team, to take advantage of a blunder by Ederson and equalize in the 81st minute.

Parity was only momentary, though, as Laporte won after Maximo Perrone and Phil Foden executed a skillfully executed short corner routine.
